Surprise Proposal at Brasada Ranch Resort in Bend Oregon

I had the pleasure of photographing these two super stars and major sports fans last spring. Erin, a sports reporter based in Eugene Oregon and Tyler, a football coach also based in Eugene Oregon. They had met in college and knew right away that they just made sense. Spending just a short amount of time with them I could tell they are absolute besties and have so much fun together!

I collaborated with Tyler for the day of his surprise proposal to Erin at the Brasada Ranch, an idyllic luxury ranch resort based in Bend Oregon. Which is honestly one of my favorite places to shoot! Being asked to capture their surprise proposal there was a dream come true. We coordinated with each of their families who flew in from different states to be there and would be staying at the cabins on the Brasada Ranch property without Erin’s knowledge. Tyler and I picked a spot on the Trestle Bridge to get down on one knee and their families waited just a hundred yards away to watch it all unfold.

I waited for them to walk by, taking pictures of the beautiful desert foliage at Brasada Ranch as I waited and acted like a casual touristy nature photographer minding just my own business. Everything lined up perfectly when Tyler got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. Of course, she said yes! ✨

We celebrated with a bottle of bubbly, ooooing and aaaaahing over her absolutely sunning ring. Tyler did a really great job with it!

Afterwards, they were met with and congratulated by their families. Big hugs and a few nice photos with everyone. Lucky us, it started to sprinkle rain just after we finished so we all headed over to The Wild Rye with the newly engaged happy couple.

There, Erin and Tyler enjoyed a sweet romantic dinner at Brasada’s on-site restaurant called The Wild Rye - restaurant and bar. With their seasonally focused menus, and locally sourced ingredients, the Wild Rye is truly one of the best spots to eat in Bend Oregon. Tyler thoughtfully made reservations ahead of time and they enjoyed their first post engagement dinner together.

Later on we took a few photos outside by the gorgeous outdoor campfire setup. We got a little silly when they wanted to show me their signature drinking pose. 😆 I absolutely love when my couples show their silly side and fun personalities!
