I first met Paty and JD for a portfolio building session I had here in Oregon. They were the perfect pair—warm, stylish, and so clearly in love. We spent the afternoon capturing their engagement photos in a local park, chatting about their love story and their big plans for the future. Halfway through, they stopped to ask if I would be their wedding photographer. Of course, I said yes! How serendipitous that we'd find each other like this! ^_^
Fast forward to their wedding day at Horning's Hideout, a hidden gem tucked in the lush landscapes of North Plains, Oregon. With 40 sprawling acres of forested beauty, this venue was a dream for their celebration. Designed to host up to 250 guests, Horning's Hideout offers three distinct spaces for events, each with its own charm and character. It’s the kind of place where every guest can feel connected to nature—whether they choose to camp under the stars or stay in a nearby hotel just ten minutes away in town.
Paty and JD’s vision for their wedding was clear from the start: they wanted a day that felt intentional, sustainable, and rooted in their unique story. From the eco-friendly décor to the thoughtfully curated details that honored both their Venezuelan and American families, every decision they made reflected their values and love for their guests.
Their ceremony was held in the heart of Horning's Hideout, surrounded by towering trees and the soft murmur of a nearby stream. Guests mingled around the property, reminiscing and sharing stories with each other, and the couple exchanged vows beneath a gorgeous arch draped in beautiful florals made by Blue Lark Events. It was intimate, heartfelt, and perfect all the way around.
Afterward, the celebration transitioned from ceremony to dinner, to reception, where the party truly came to life. Paty and JD’s friends and family—some who had traveled all the way from Venezuela—brought a vibrant energy that was absolutely contagious. Guests dined on locally sourced dishes made by BBQ Time, a top catering company based in Portland Oregon, that paid homage to both cultures.
After dinner and first dances came “La Hora Loca”—a Latin American tradition that means “The Crazy Hour.” This dance party was everything the name promised: a burst of joy, laughter, and pure fun. Guests donned silly hats and props, and the dance floor transformed into a kaleidoscope of movement and color. Capturing those moments was such a thrill—each click preserving the unrestrained happiness of the night.
Paty and JD, you welcomed me into your world with open arms, and it was an honor to witness your love and celebrate alongside your incredible families. Your trust means the world to me, and your wedding day was a true reflection of the warmth and generosity you radiate. Thank you for letting me be part of it all. 🖤
Cheers to many more “crazy hours” and a lifetime of love and adventure!
"We loved working with Mia for our wedding and our engagement photos! She is so talented and kind. Our engagement photos turned out so beautiful that we knew we wanted her to capture our wedding day. Mia was super easy to communicate with and made us feel really comfortable. She would check in and make sure that we were on the same page. On the day of the wedding, she was really thoughtful and attentive. She was flexible with us and really spontaneous and creative with photo ideas that ended up looking so cool. We are so glad that we worked with Mia and recommend her! I feel like she was our photographer and through these experiences also became a friend. Thank you Mia!" - Bride, Paty Rincon
